Robert E. Lee boys soccer is looking for its third straight District 12-5A win to start the league campaign, and senior Lumi Kaba will be looking to add to his already impressive goal tally.
The Red Raiders play host to Mesquite Horn at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lee High School soccer field. Lee (7-3-1) posted victories over Rockwall-Heath and Longview to sit alone atop the standings with six points from those two wins. Kaba scored all four goals and now has 16 through 11 games.
Mesquite Horn (1-0 3 pts in 12-5A) blasted Heath 6-0 on Tuesday. The Jaguars had a bye in the first week of league play.
Girls
Lee lost 1-0 on Tuesday to Longview to stay the lone team in District 12-5A without a point after two games. The Lady Raiders (7-6) try to turn that around on the road Friday at Mesquite Horn. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. today at E.H. Hanby Stadium in Mesquite.
The Lady Raiders are in a goal drought, having not scored in their last three matches and will also look to snap a four-game losing streak overall.
Mesquite Horn (1-0, 3 pts in 12-5A) won its one and only district game on Tuesday, defeating Rockwall-Heath 2-1.
Bishop Gorman
Four different players scored as Bishop Gorman defeated Dallas Christian 4-0 in a girls TAPPS D-II District 2 match on Thursday at McCallum Stadium.
In the boys match prior, Jose Valle scored as the Crusaders tied 1-1.
Kelly O’Neill, CeCe Guzman, Aubrey Miller and Kimi Prevost scored to lift the Lady Crusaders to victory. Madi Lamance was in goal for the clean sheet.
The Crusaders had a chance to win in the final minute denied by a physical effort from Dallas Christian’s on-rushing goalkeeper.
Gorman plays at Dallas Parish Episcopal on Tuesday. The boys start at 5 p.m. with the girls to follow at 7 p.m.
Bullard Brook Hill
MCKINNEY — Hayley Dumesnil scored three goals and Kendall Wells added two more to lead Bullard Brook Hill past McKinney Christian in TAPPS D-III District 2 girls soccer action Thursday.
Janette Nwachakwu contributed the other goal and an assist, while Wells finished with two assists and Katherine Stair provided one assist.
