Rippy helps Robert E. Lee stay hot, down Mesquite Horn 9-0

MESQUITE – Robert E. pitcher Bradley Rippy produced a one-hit shutout while Trevor Doke went 4 for 4 in an 9-0 win over Mesquite Horn Tuesday.

The Red Raiders move to 3-2 in District 11-6A win the win. The same two teams will meet again Friday with a first pitch at 7 p.m. at Mike Carter Field.



Rippy struck out eight and coach James Boxley said his hurler was in control throughout the game.

“He was good all night for us,” Boxley said. “He had good stuff from the get-go and we knew we were not going to have to score many runs for him.”

Rhett Parker was 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs with Matt Hittle going 2 for 4 with two singles, an RBI and a run scored.
