BULLARD — Bullard and Gladewater split a baseball-softball doubleheader on Tuesday night in District 16-3A.
The Panthers remained in second place in the baseball race with a 10-0 shutout over the winless Bears, who are winless in district play.
The Lady Bears made a big comeback with three runs in the fifth to take a 3-1 win over the Lady Panthers.
Bullard catcher Trevor Rumbelow provided six of 10-runs for the Panthers in their baseball win at Panther Field.
Rumbelow was 2 for 3 at the plate with five RBIs and scored one run.
Britt Thomas picked up the win on the mound, throwing scoreless ball for five innings and sitting seven down on strikes with no walks. Cody Goode came on to pitch the final two Bear at-bats without allowing a hit.
In the softball game, Bullard took a 1-0 lead when catcher Sarah Ritch blasted a one-hopper off the left centerfield wall to plate losing pitcher CoCo Springer.
Gladewater’s Victoria Gardon (2 for 2, run scored), singled to start the fifth inning. Fielder’s choices by Rachel Hitt and Kourtland Hunter scored Gardon and Hitt. Hunter scored the final run on one of two Lady Panthers errors in the game.
Taylor Frederick had two of the four Bullard hits.
