BROWNSBORO — Calvin Edward Morris, 72, of Brownsboro Texas went to be with Jesus Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Calvin was born January 24, 1952, to Jeff and Alma Morris in Terrell, Texas. In 1974, he married Diana Smith Morris, celebrating 50 years and one day of marriage. Calvin graduated from Garland High School and went to work for the Dallas Fire Department from which he retired in 2007 with 35 years of service. Calvin faithfully served the Lord at Union Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro, as well as numerous short-term mission trips around the world sharing the gospel.
Calvin is survived by wife Diana Morris of Brownsboro, daughter Tiffani Shelby and favorite son- in-law Ryan Shelby of Rowlett. Daughters-in-law Nafisa Morris of Brownsboro and Kelly Skinner of Yantis. Grandchildren, Kylor Morris and Amanda Dorste and soon to be great-grandchild of Katy. Dylan and Lauren Shelby of Dallas, Natalie Shelby of Rowlett, Cole Morris of Whitehouse and Lane, Cana, Boaz and Lily Morris of Brownsboro. Siblings, Peggy Michel of Memphis, Betty Morris of Abilene, Joe Mark Smith and Lynn of Conroe, Michael Smith and Kelli of Beaumont and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Calvin was preceded in death by parents, Jeff and Alma Morris, son Trevor Morris, brother Bruce Morris, sister-in-law Tina Smith Cooper, and in-laws Joe and Frances Smith.
Visitation will be Friday February 9, 2024 at 6:00-8:00 pm at Union Hill Baptist Church 15866 FM 3204 Brownsboro, TX 75756.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday February 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at Leagueville Baptist Church 12081 FM 317 Murchison, TX 75778
