Registration continues for Tyler Junior College’s “90 for 90th” bike ride – a two-day, 90-mile bicycle tour spanning the length of TJC’s enrollment district, from Alba-Golden to Rusk – set for Friday and Saturday.

The ride is a kickoff event of TJC’s 90th anniversary celebration. Events will be held throughout the coming year, celebrating TJC’s rich heritage and traditions.

TJC President Dr. Mike Metke, an avid fitness proponent and cycling enthusiast, will lead the bike tour. Riders of all abilities can choose to ride all or part of the tour, depending on their skill level.

On Day 1, the ride will begin at Alba-Golden High School, proceed through Quitman, Mineola and Lindale, and finish on the TJC main campus. Shuttles will be available to transport riders from the TJC campus to the tour starting point in Alba-Golden.

On Day 2, the ride will begin on the TJC main campus, head south through Whitehouse and Jacksonville, and finish in Rusk. After the tour, shuttles will be available to transport riders back to the TJC campus.

Pre-registration cost is $35 per person for both days, or $20 for one day. All riders will receive T-shirts with their paid registration. Late registration begins at 7 a.m. both days, with the rides starting at 8 a.m.

Commemorative TJC 90th anniversary cycling jerseys will be available for purchase. To register online, go to www.tjc.edu/90for90.
