Celtic and classical music will come together in East Texas Symphony Orchestra’s “Dueling Fiddles” concert 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at The University of Texas at Tyler Cowan Center.

Celtic music star Natalie MacMaster will present her high-energy renditions of traditional jigs, reels and waltzes including “Tunes-a-plenty,” “Strathspeys and Three Reels” and “If Ever You Were Mine.” She will be joined on stage by two of her band mates, Mac Morin, on piano and Eric Breton on percussion, said information from ETSO.

The orchestra’s concertmaster, Mark Miller, will provide a classical exploration of the violin in Mozart’s “Rondo in C,” Massenet’s “Meditation from Thais” and Saint-Saens’ “Introduction and Rondo capriccioso.”

MacMaster and Miller also will join for a duet uniting their styles.

ETSO is under the direction of conductor Richard Lee.

Tickets start at $10 and are available at the Cowan Center box office, by calling 903-566-7424 or online at etso.org.

At age 16, Ms. MacMaster released her debut album, “Four on the Floor.” Her career as a Celtic fiddler spans three decades and 11 albums. She has performed and recorded music throughout the world and won a Grammy for a collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma.

The concert is sponsored in part by Sheryl Rogers Palmer with additional support from Betty and Louis Bower, Carol and Ken Cushman, Laura and H. T. Hyde, and Texas Commission on the Arts.

Season support comes from Women’s Symphony League of Tyler. The concert is a Braithwaite Performing Arts Program jointly presented by ETSO and the UT Tyler Cowan Center.
