Good Shepherd Health System today will announce it is merging with Christus Health, an Irving-based non-profit that has other hospital operations in the region and elsewhere in Texas.

“We feel strongly that Christus Health is the best potential partner for our organization,” Steve Altmiller, president and CEO of Longview-based Good Shepherd, said today. “They are going to invest in the Longview and Marshall market.”

Ernie Sadau, president and CEO of Christus, said the Catholic faith-based organization was looking forward to bringing the two non-profit systems together.
