BROWNSBORO — Jackson Legrow threw a no-hitter as the Lindale Eagles defeated the Brownsboro Bears 8-0 on Friday in a District 14-4A baseball game.



Legrow struck out six and walked just two as the Eagles improve to 10-3-1 overall and 2-1 in district.

Lindale shortstop Ty McCoy, who has committed to Hardin-Simmons, had three of the Eagles’ 10-hit attack. He also had an RBI and scored a run.

Jake Powell had two hits, including a triple with an RBI and run scored. Jackson Parker also had two hits and scored two runs.

Others adding hits for the Eagles were Connor Deen (double), Hudson Legrow and Caleb Hart.

Also with RBIs were Deen (1), Cody Hendrick (1), Aiden Warnell (1) and Hudson Legrow (1).

Others scoring runs were Deen (3) and Karter Fleming (1).

Lindale is scheduled to visit Athens at 7 p.m. Tuesday and then host the Hornets at 7 p.m. March 28. The Bears (5-12, 0-3) play host to Van at 7 p.m. Tuesday and visit the Vandals at 7 p.m. Friday.

SPRING HILL 20, CUMBERLAND 0

Cayden Rhodes struck out nine with one walk in a four-inning no-hitter, and the Spring Hill Panthers put this one away early with 20 runs in the first two innings in a 20-0 shutout of Cumberland Academy on Friday at the Knights’ diamond in Tyler.

Corbin Broyles, Reid Noon and Grant Burton all had two hits, with Broyles driving in four runs, Burton three and Noon two. Eli Emery chipped in with a single and three RBI, and Trent Thompson and Cayson Wilkins both drove in runs for the Panthers.

GILMER 5, PINE TREE 4

GILMER — Klein Lindsey singled with the bases loaded and on out in the bottom of the seventh as the Gilmer Buckeyes walked off with a 5-4 win over the Pine Tree Pirates on Friday.

Pine Tree scored three times in the top of the seventh to tie things at 4-4, but Aiden Davis singled to lead off the seventh for Gilmer, moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Tayveon Horne, advanced to third when Brayden Pate walked to load the bases and scored on Lindsey’s single.

Davis finished with two hits, and Pate drove in two runs for Gilmer. Ryder Lange pitched six innings, striking out four and walking four. Lindsey walked two and gave up no runs an inning on the hill.

Chris Nickoles tripled and drove in three runs in the loss for Pine Tree. M.J. Cates, Colton Croft and Manuel Williams all doubled, with Williams adding a single and Cates driving in a run. Croft finished with two hits.

Zachary Duhart struck out four and walked three in 6.1 innings pitched for the Pirates.

TATUM 13, GLADEWATER 0

TATUM — Tristin Berry fanned six and walked one, giving up no runs on four hits over five innings to lead the Tatum Eagles past Gladewater, 13-0.

Cooper Whiteus doubled twice, singled and drove in two runs for the Eagles. Dustin Henigan added two hits and an RBI. Kody Hines and Jaxen Prince both doubled and singled, with Prince driving in three runs. Brody Downs doubled and drove in a run. Cayden Tatum had a triple and two RBI. Colt Bullard doubled, and Grant Adcock and Berry contributed RBI.

Luke Brown struck out three and walked four in 2.2 innings pitched for G ladewater. Mason Budro fanned one and walked one in 1.1 innings. Budro had two singles in the loss for the Bears.

NEW DIANA 1, JEFFERSON 0

JEFFERSON — Mason Sherman doubled to drive in the only run of the game in the top of the seventh as the New Diana Eagles posted a 1-0 win over Jefferson.

Remi Rountree singled twice for the Eagles, who got shut down pitching from Colt McDowell over seven innings. McDowell struck out 10 and walked two in a complete-game no-hitter. He threw 62 of his 87 pitches for strikes.

BECKVILLE 7, WASKOM 6

WASKOM — Beckville scored in the top of the seventh to break a 6-6 deadlock on the way to a 7-6 win over Waskom.

Reed Chapman struck out five and walked two in five innings for Beckville, and Baker Seegers worked two innings on the hill for the Bearcats, fanning six with no walks or hits allowed.

Aiden Harris singled twice, Chapman tripled and singled, Brock White doubled and singled and White, Aiden Brantley, Seegers and Braxton Bullock all drove in runs for the Bearcats.

UNION HILL 17, BLOOMBURG 3

BLOOMBURG — Three Bulldog pitchers combined to strike out 11 and hold Bloomburg to one hit over four innings as Union Hill coasted to a 17-3 win.

E.J. Mowery fanned five with no walks and one hit allowed in two innings, and Eli Mendoza and Harlee Burns both fanned three in an inning of work on the hill.

Mowery also homered, singled and drove in four runs and Mitch Mobley had a single and three RBI for Union Hill. Cayden Elledge and Mendoza had two hits and two RBI apiece, and Wyatt Orsburn chipped in with an RBI.
