Lee golfers win Brook Hill Classic

BULLARD — Despite its top golfer competing as a medalist, Robert E. Lee won the Brook Hill Classic golf tournament by eight strokes on Monday at Eagle’s Bluff.

Bullard Brook Hill’s Hunter Shattuck, who recently signed to play golf at McLennan Community College, won the individual tournament by four strokes with a 35-38—73.



Competing as a medalist for the Red Raiders, Kylar Gee finished second individually with a 77. Lee’s Zach Sampson and Ben Harrison both fired 79s to boost the winning squad. Nacogdoches’ Colin Frizzell also shot a 79.

Spring Hill edged host Brook Hill 337-339 for second place. They were followed by Nacogdoches (356) while Van and Sabine both finished at 358. All Saints took ninth with a 366 team score while Grace Community came in 14th (379).

Hagan Wood of Spring Hill came in sixth individually with an 81 followed by Henderson’s William Wilder at 82. Shooting 83s were Collin Thompson and Parker Fiscus of Spring Hill, as well as Dallas Shelton’s Chad Guta, Lee’s Will Pollard and Carrollton Prince of Peace’s Zach Partin.
