The Swingle Singers coming to UT Tyler

The Grammy-winning singing group The Swingle Singers will headline a night of a cappella music in Tyler.
Also performing in the concert will be The University of Texas at Tyler’s Patriot Singers and the Tyler-based vocal group Clearly Vocal, concert promoters announced.
The concert is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 230 Rusk St. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be ordered from the website singtyler.org.
The Swingle Singers also will hold free workshops at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the church.
Swingle Singers
The current lineup of the Swingle Singles is on tour to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of its Grammy-winning debut album Jazz S←bastien Bach in 1963. The seven singers deliver folk ballads, funk jams and fugues.
Patriot Singers
The Patriot Singers is the premier choral ensemble of the University of Texas at Tyler and perform a repertoire from sacred Renaissance works to contemporary vocal jazz. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Cameron Rose.
Clearly Vocal
The five-member a cappella group sings jazz, pop, holiday, love songs, classical and inspirational music. It has performed at a cappella festivals across the country and is a founding members of SING! Texas, a non-profit organization promoting vocal music.
