Tyler woman new events coordinator at WorkHub
WorkHub has announced the addition of Cindy McCall as its new events coordinator.
“Cindy McCall comes to us with an impressive resume of leadership, experience and service to the East Texas community, particularly in the field of special events,” said Yaziri Orrostieta, chief executive officer of WorkHub. “Her skill set allows her to handle a full range of events for our members and East Texas community, from major galas to intimate conferences and lectures.”
When asked about her new position, Mrs. McCall said, “I see myself as a catalyst in connecting and assisting our members to successfully host events in WorkHub’s flexible environment. Even if you’re not currently a member, we can still sit down and figure out how to get you on board and reach your event goals.”
Prior to joining WorkHub, McCall was the senior development manager of distinguished events for the American Cancer Society and director of development, attractions and entertainment for the East Texas State Fair.
McCall is a volunteer for numerous local nonprofits, including the Junior League of Tyler, Habitat for Humanity and the Women’s Symphony League. She received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s in Education at the University of Texas in Tyler.
She lives in Tyler with her husband, TR, and their four children, along with their chocolate doodles, Bentley and Berkley.
WorkHub is a membership-based, co-working company that provides shared workspace for freelancers, nonprofits, small businesses and business startups in its 35,000-square-foot facility, 7922 S. Broadway Ave. in Tyler.
Law firm partner promoted to major
The Sloan Law Firm has announced the promotion of partner Joe Jones to major in the Marine Corps Reserve.
For the majority of his military service, Jones served as a judge advocate, representing more than 60 Marines and Navy sailors charged with various offenses.
As a Sloan partner, Jones provides legal counsel in cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.
