There have been several business closures, as well as new openings and expansions, in the Tyler area so far in December.

Dave & Buster’s

Dave & Buster’s, a popular eatery, bar, and arcade, is set to open a new location at The Village at Cumberland Park on South Broadway Avenue in Tyler.

The entertainment venue will be located at 8930 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 220. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2025, with completion expected by Jan. 19, 2026. The building will span nearly 23,000 square feet and is estimated to cost $4.5 million.

Crema Coffee Co.

Crema Coffee Co. announced plans to open a second location in downtown Tyler at 110 N. College Ave., Suite 103, in the Plaza Tower.

The expansion comes three years after the family-owned coffee shop first opened on Three Lakes Parkway during the COVID-19 pandemic. The owners thanked the community for its support, noting it played a key role in the growth of their business. They also shared plans to bring their familiar menu and offerings to the downtown area while joining its established culture.

Painted Tree

Painted Tree Boutiques officially opened its doors on Saturday at 8970 S Broadway Ave., Suite 144, in Tyler. The new marketplace occupies the former Bed Bath & Beyond retail space.

The 35,900-square-foot facility houses a unique marketplace with over 300 spaces, showcasing a diverse selection of local small businesses. Dubbed a “big way to shop small,” the concept offers entrepreneurs, creatives and small business owners a convenient retail spot to display their curated products. With hundreds of businesses under one roof, the space aims to provide a collaborative environment for East Texas’ local community.

La Sonorense Birria

La Sonorense Birria Food Truck, known for its authentic Mexican cuisine, announced it will permanently close. Owner Amy Reyes thanked customers for their support and shared that she will miss serving the community. She reflected on the hard work and dedication that went into creating her specialty, birria, and the connections it fostered.

The announcement, shared with the truck’s 4,200 Facebook likes and 6,000 followers, received more than 120 comments from customers expressing both disappointment and understanding. Reyes also shared plans to sell the food truck as she shifts her focus to other priorities.

Urban Deaux Boutique

Urban Deaux Boutique is set to reopen at 317 S. Boise Arc in Tyler on Dec. 14. The boutique features handcrafted candles, stylish clothing, and unique gifts, offering a curated selection of items designed to add warmth, charm and personality to homes and wardrobes.
