Life-saving support
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Tyler community and the volunteers of the American Red Cross East Texas Chapter for helping our fellow East Texans as they face some of their worst days. This March marks the 81st celebration of Red Cross Month, the annual tradition President Franklin D. Roosevelt started in 1943 when we honor the amazing volunteers who make our mission possible.
Every year Red Crossers in the East Texas Chapter, encompassing 29 counties, assist families after disasters, host blood drives, support military members and veterans, along with their families and caregivers and provide first aid, CPR and AED training.
These community heroes step up, put on a Red Cross vest and help their neighbors in Tyler and across East Texas become a more resilient community. Please sign up to join a positive community of service-oriented individuals dedicated to caring for one another.
You can volunteer, make a financial donation, learn a lifesaving skill or donate blood to help. Go to Redcross.org/EastTexas to learn more.

Biden needs to step down
It is almost a daily occurrence to witness in the news some action which shows the terrible frailty our President Joe Biden is facing. It is not a pretty sight.
Families are meant to protect and shield one another. Among the worst diseases around are Alzheimer’s and dementia. I am sure that if Joe were a relative of mine, other relatives would step in and say “Enough is enough: Step down and resign immediately.” So, why won’t Jill Biden do that same thing? She and Hunter Biden are prolonging a long, long national nightmare of agony.
Joe Biden at age 81 is the oldest American president ever. The city of Tyler was named after President John Tyler who was a remarkable 55 years old when Texas was annexed. We need a man of vigor in the Oval Office to lead our nation.
It is apparent Joe has dementia. His frailty will only grow worse. He should resign the presidency immediately. Even waiting until after the Democratic convention is too long. His feeble nature is showing now. He must resign immediately for the sake of our country’s welfare.
