Jacksonville man killed in crash after striking tree

A 35-year-old Jacksonville man was killed Sunday in a crash.

The crash happened at 8:52 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 22, 3.3 miles outside of Jacksonville, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.

Brandon Steven Morton was driving west in a 2000 Ford F-150 when the truck went off the road, the report said.

Morton overcorrected, causing the truck to cross back over and then off the roadway and strike a tree.

Morton was taken to UT Health-Jacksonville.

The crash remains under investigation.
