Tyler-based educational publisher Mentoring Minds was recognized with two 2014 Teachers’ Choice Awards for the Classroom.
The awards, put on by the Learning magazine, recognized the company’s Motivation Writing and Differentiated Instruction Guide among the best classroom-tested, teacher-recommended products available today, according to a Mentoring Minds news release.
Motivation Writing is a supplemental writing resource developed specifically for Texas fourth-grade classrooms. It is designed to incorporate critical and creative thinking and focused reinforcement into writing instruction.
The Differentiated Instruction Guide is designed to help teachers identify and meet the needs of diverse learners, according to the news release.
The guide provides background knowledge, techniques, tools and strategies for differentiated instruction.
“Our resources for Texas schools are developed by Texas educators who have a deep understanding of our state standards and assessments,” Robert Bush, Mentoring Minds CEO, said, according to the news release. “We are incredibly proud to have our programs ranked among the top in the nation by the Teachers’ Choice Awards’ educator-judges.”
Each year, a panel of teacher-judges determines the standouts in categories such as books, classroom supplies, educational games and websites, according to the news release.
Judges evaluated the products for quality, instructional value, ease of use and innovation during two rounds of judging. The top-scoring products were selected to win, according to the news release.
