Jacksonville man killed in Sunday night Smith County crash

A Jacksonville man died Sunday night when his vehicle crashed into several trees on a Smith County Road. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Marcos Antonio Lopez, 19, died at the scene on County Road 2177 about a half or a mile south of County Road 2180.

The report stated Lopez was traveling sounth on CR 2177 when the 1999 Ford Taurus he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees.

Smith County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace James Meredith pronounced Lopez dead at the scene.
