TJC: South District champions

The Tyler Junior College Apaches won the South District Soccer Tournament championship on Sunday and will now head to the NJCAA Men’s National Soccer Tournament Nov. 16-21 in Axton, Virginia.

Coach Steve Clements’ team is ranked No. 2 in the nation with a 16-3 record. They are also the defending national champions. The Apaches are seeded No. 2 in the tournament and are in Pool B with Schoolcraft (Mich.) (15-2-3) and ASA New York (8-6-3). TJC will open the tournament against ASA New York at 3 p.m. (EST) Monday.
