HENDERSON – A furious Tatum rally came up just short when a missed PAT left the Eagles trailing by a point as Henderson held on for a 21-20 victory at Lion Stadium.

Henderson took a 14-0 lead at halftime on an 8-yard run by Trae Hall in the first quarter and a 9-yard interception return for a score by Ty Blanton in the second stanza. It was Blanton’s second pick six in as many games.

Tatum scored just 10 seconds into the third quarter to get back into the game, adding another touchdown on a pass from OB Jones to Jachais Jenkins, but Hall scored on a 1-yard run to keep Henderson in front.

The Eagles scored on another Jones-to Jenkins pass with 2:25 to play to make it a 21-20 contest, but the PAT failed.

Cedric White rushed for 177 yards on 26 carries in the loss for Tatum.
