It’s National Volunteer Week, and Smith County officials gathered in the Tyler Court Annex building this morning to honor the Volunteers of Smith County for their work helping our government agencies to better operate.
Volunteers around smith county of all ages donate their time an energy to making county government run smoother, and save taxpayers in the area an estimated $444,000 since 2009 as a result, according to figures provided by the Smith County Sheriff’s office. That’s a lot of work, resulting in a lot of savings for taxpayers.
