Texas State Railroad announces spring season

The Texas State Railroad, which runs between Rusk and Palestine, has announced its spring schedule.



Fun-Day Matinees will take place on the last Sunday of every month. The trains will depart from the Rusk depot at 1 p.m. Children ages 2 to 11 ride free with adults.

The Dogwood Special Brunch Train is set for April 2. It will depart from the Palestine depot at 10 a.m. and return at 1 p.m. Riders will be able to view dogwoods blooming in their native, wooded habitat.

Easter Egg Express excursions are scheduled for April 8-9 and 14-15. They will depart at 10 a.m. from the Rusk depot.

The train takes riders to the Easter Egg Patch where children can hunt eggs, go on a hay ride and take a photo with the Easter bunny. The train returns at 1:30 p.m.
