WHITEHOUSE — After their service on Sunday, the Hill Creek Baptist Church of Whitehouse showed their support for native son Patrick Mahomes.

Most of the congregation was decked out in Mahomes' jerseys or Chiefs gear in anticipation of Super Bowl LIV between KC and the San Frnacisco 49ers in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The church members took a photo of front of their building, wishing Mahomes good luck.

Out front, Hill Creek's marquee read: "God has no favorites but the sign ladies do. Go Chiefs!" The other side of the states, "Proud of Patrick Mahomes, Go Chiefs! Mike Ford, Pastor."

I am a native Tylerite and I grew up reading the Tyler Morning Telegraph and The Tyler Courier-Times. My parents took both the morning and afternoon papers. I came to work here 35 years ago at the age of 23, right after college.
