Tyler man arrested on child sex trafficking charge

A Tyler man was arrested on a child sex trafficking charge.

Dedrick Lamar Elliott, 44, was arrested Tuesday by the Tyler Police Department.

He was booked into the Smith County Jail at about 6:40 p.m., according to the inmate booking report.

Elliott was charged with trafficking a child to engage in sexual conduct, according to Smith County judicial records. 



Elliott was being held on a $500,000 bond, according to jail records.

Dec. 31, 2018: The District Attorney’s office declined to prosecute Dedrick Lamar Elliott on this charge, according to Smith County judicial records online database.
