UNION GROVE — Josiah Johnson finished one rebound short of a double-double as the No. 3 Big Sandy Wildcats scored a 76-40 win over Union Grove on Monday in a District 16-2A basketball game.

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but the two schools decided to play on Monday.

Johnson had 20 points and nine rebounds, along with six assists to leading the Wildcats (14-6, 2-0).

Joshua Shipman (13 points), Elijah Beard (11) and Gabriel Lemons (11) were all in double figures scoring.

Khameron Pippins added four steals for the Wildcats.

Cade Judd, Kyle Turner and Dalton Borden led the Lions (10-8, 0-2) with eight points apiece.
