Legacy track teams place second at Rockwall meet

Tyler Legacy’s track and field teams recorded second-place finishes at the Rockwall Rockin’ R Relays at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium.
The Lady Raiders finished with 183 points, behind Rockwall (214) and ahead of Melissa (90), North Forney (39), Lakeview Centennial (35), Naaman Forest (33), North Garland (15) and Wylie East (3).
The Red Raiders finished with 136.5 points, behind North Forney (142) and ahead of Lakeview Centennial (135), Rockwall (98.5), Naaman Forest (80), North Garland (10) and Melissa (8).
Freshman Chazilyn Walker won the girls discus with a throw of 103-7.
Junior Taylor Woods won the girls high jump with a height of 5-9, and junior Jaida Sanders was third with a height of 5-4.
Zion Smith won the girls triple jump with a distance of 37-9. Mariyah Coon (36-5) was second, and Jakira Williams (34-7) was fifth. Smith placed second in the girls long jump with a distance of 17-9. Coon (17-8) was third, and Williams (17-1.5) was fifth.
Grady Studinka won the boys pole vault with a height of 14-0, and Micah Igaya was third with a height of 12-6.
Sophomore Juan Herrera won the boys 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:18.02, and freshman Jalen Wesley Smith (12:09.87) was second.
JaiShawn Lee won the boys 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.43. Lee was fifth in the boys 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.59.
Sophomore DeCaila Bailey won the girls 200-meter dash with a time of 26.10, and Williams (26.64) was third.
Jayden Jones placed second in the boys high jump with a height of 6-0, and Jaylan Bowser was third at a height of 5-10.
Jadaelyn Jackson placed second in the boys discus with a throw of 158-9, and Cash Acker (127-8) was sixth.
Sophomore Maddry East placed second in the girls 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:43.03, and Landry Lay (13:03.81) was sixth. East also placed second in the girls 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:17.76. Landry Lay (5:44.13) was fourth, and Margaret Magill (5:47.98) was fifth.
The team of Kate Preist, Mikalah Edwards, Bella Gapinski and Emiya Attaway placed second in the girls 400-meter relay with a time of 49-28.
Myracle Ford placed second in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.22.
Sophomore DeCaila Bailey placed second in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 12.53, and Mikalah Edwards (12.72) was fourth.
The team of Williams, Amayah Warren, Coon and Robison placed second in the girls 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:16.61.
The team of Joseph Ryan, Iyan Birdow, Braydon Torori and Jayden Walton placed second in the boys 1,600-meter relay with a time of 3:31.47.
Sophomore Bryson Sanders placed third in the boys long jump with a jump of 21-6, and Jai’Den Kemp (20-7) was fifth. Sanders placed third in the boys triple jump with a distance of 43-0, and Bowser (40-3.5) was fifth.
Sophomore Abigail Luhrs was third in the girls 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.35. Sophomore Zoe Flack (2:33.30) was fourth and sophomore Margaret Magill (2:34.92) was sixth.
The team of Williams, Gapinski, Coon and Daviah Ragsdale placed third in the girls 800-meter relay with a time of 1:45.58.
The team of Iyan Birdow, Ian Pitts, Jayden Walton and Joseph Ryan placed third in the boys 800-meter relay with a time of 1:31.25.
Avery Buenaventura was third in the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:54.55. Colton Zolkoski (5:02.31) was fifth, and freshman Logan Adams (5:03.50) was sixth.
Sophomore Kayla Allen was fourth in the girls shot put with a distance of 32-11.
Pitts placed fourth in the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 23.45, and Rashad Warren (23.79) was sixth.
The team of Kian Wallace, Tyrien Brown, Jackson Welch and Caleb Johnson placed fifth in the boys 400-meter relay with a time of 45.35.
Ruthie Robison placed fifth in the girls 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.87, and Caroline Tandy (52.63) was sixth.
Sophomore Colton Zolkoski placed sixth the boys 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.38.
Freshman Joseph Ryan placed sixth in the boys 400-meter dash with a time of 53.29.
Legacy’s JV girls placed second with 144 points, and the Legacy JV boys were fourth with 109.5 points.
