Dakota’s Steak and Chop House will open in its new location on Old Bullard Road in the La Piazza Shopping Center on Thursday, management said.

“We’re very excited about the new site,” Stacy Betts, marketing manager, said. “We will also announce a new chef on board, who will bring some new flavors to the restaurant.”

Dakota’s first opened 13 years ago on South Broadway Avenue, behind Racquet & Jog. It’s been a good location, Ms. Betts said, but the new place has something the restaurant has wanted to offer for a long time – patio dining.

“The new location isn’t really much bigger, square-footage wise, but we have a patio now and we’re happy about that,” she said. “We also have a spectacular new bar area, with lots of rich, dark mahogany wood.”

The steakhouse also plans to start a Saturday brunch – something new for Tyler.

“Other restaurants have a Sunday brunch, but we’re going to do Saturday, too,” she said.

Saturday brunch will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant also will have private rooms available.

The new location is at 4803 Old Bullard Road. The restaurant’s phone number will remain 903-581-6700.
