A Dallas man suspected of being involved in a string of Anderson County burglaries was arrested in Palestine.
Officers were headed to an unrelated call when they saw a suspicious white car at a business near where a burglary happened the night before, according to a news release from the Palestine Police Department.
A sergeant spotted a man, identified as 45-year-old Wayne Glover, behind Donut Palace in the 100 block of Crockett Road. Police later found marks on a back door from someone trying to force it open.
Glover ran from authorities and attempted to get into his vehicle to flee but was captured by officers, the release states.
Officers said they believe Glover may be responsible for a string of burglaries in Palestine. He was booked in the Anderson County Jail for burglary of a building, a state jail felony, which carries a sentence of up to two years in jail. He also received a misdemeanor charge of evading arrest and detention.
His bonds totaled $200,000.
The investigation is ongoing. Evidence from the scene was sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for testing.
