Sunny and warm

The weather will remain sunny and warm through Friday with high temperatures in the low 90s. The next system to change our weather is an upper trough of low pressure spinning over the Pacific Northwest. It will move out into the northern Plains Friday night and drag a cold front across our area over the weekend. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin as early as Saturday afternoon and increase Saturday night and Sunday. According to some forecast models, the front could become stationary and continue the rain into early next week. Rainfall amounts are expected to exceed 1 inch. Temperatures will be cooler by Sunday with highs in the low to mid 80s through Tuesday.
