Tyler could have two Residence Inn by Marriott hotels next year.
Tricia Noyes, general manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott Tyler, at 3303 Troup Highway, wants customers to know that the hotel will not be closing when a second Residence Inn, planned for construction by different owners, goes up.
“We are happy to say that guests can continue to take advantage of our superior service and relax in the comfort of our spacious suites ideally designed for extended stays for a long time to come,” she said. “We have been in the community for over 25 years, and we thrive on continuing this tradition of providing the best quality Marriott service with a tenured staff.”
The Residence Inn built in 1985 is owned by Pinnacle Hotel Management, which is based in Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
“We understand that growth occurs in blooming markets, such as Tyler, and we welcome the opportunity to continue to serve our guests as well as many new and loyal Marriott customers,” Ms. Noyes said.
Ms. Noyes said The Residence Inn Tyler offers convenient amenities, including complimentary wireless Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet every morning and weekday social hour Monday through Thursday. She said the hotel’s location on Troup Highway provides quick access to many of Tyler’s top attractions.
“At the Residence Inn, we take pride in offering guests all of the comforts of home to make stays in Tyler, especially of the extended variety, that much more enjoyable,” Ms. Noyes said.
NEW HOTEL
In May, Jagdish Patel, vice president of operations for Frisco-based NewcrestImage, said the company planned to construct a new 124-room Residence Inn by Marriott at 350 Heritage Drive.
The new hotel will be on a nearly 3-acre lot near Carmike Cinema and the new Texas Spine & Joint facility on South Broadway Avenue. Construction will take up to a year, and they are targeting summer 2014 to open, he said.
Patel said the company has been working with Marriott since 2004 and built eight Marriott hotels. The Residence Inn by Marriott on Heritage Drive will be constructed from a completely different building design than the current Residence Inn, he said, adding that it is the ninth generation of Residence Inns and is the latest prototype design for the hotel. The new hotel will be one large building with an interior corridor leading to every room. The rooms will be a mixture of two-bedroom and studio suites and will all have a kitchen.
