Brook Hill claims another golf title

FORT HOOD — Behind medalists Jeffrey Yeager and Nutchapon Pattamakijsakul, Bullard Brook Hill claimed its third golf state championship in four years at the TAPPS 3A state tournament Tuesday at Clear Creek Golf Course.
Yeager fired a two-round 86-83—169 to tie for fourth place individually and pace the Guard golfers. Pattamakijsakul was one spot behind, turning in an 84-87—171 for seventh place.
Brook Hill made up a seven-stroke deficit after Monday’s first round to beat Midland Christian by 20 strokes, shooting 351-347—698. San Antonio Keystone was in third, 162 strokes back from the Guard.
In the girls tournament, Lady Guard golfer Karina Redfern finished eighth, firing a 101-99—200.
In addition to Yeager and Pattamakijsakul, the Brook Hill boys had three golfers finished from 13th-17th. Brooks Garner tied for 13th after rounds of 90-88 (178). He was followed closely by Guard teammates Matthew Webb (93-89—182, 16th) and Austin Savage (91-93—184, 17th).
Brook Hill has previously won boys state golf titles in 2011 and 2013. The Lady Guard won state in 2010.
Beaumont Legacy Christian’s Garrett James was the top boys medalist by six strokes, firing a 75-82—157.
Frisco Legacy Christian won the girls team title with a 371-381—752 while Fort Worth Temple Christian’s Jacey Patton claimed top medalist after shooting 82-80—162.
