As Fourth of July approaches, here is a list of events scheduled in the Tyler area to mark the occasion.
Party in the Park, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Whitehouse City Park, 309 E. Main St. Central Baptist Church invites people to come out and have fun ahead of Independence Day. Information: https://tinyurl.com/2kscfj8n.
Celebrate America Independence Day Fireworks Show, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 13590 Hwy 110 South in Tyler. Seventh Annual Freedom Fighter 5k & Lil’ Firecracker Fire Dash, at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Bergfeld Park, 1501 S Broadway Ave in Tyler. Come celebrate Fourth of July with family fun. Packet pickup is on Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Christus Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute Education Room, 8591 S Broadway Ave in Tyler. Fourth of July Super Rave, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday, Ohayo Sushi, 6205 S Broadway Ave in Tyler. The rave will have music, light shows and fun games. General admission is free before 10:30 p.m. and $10 after. Information: https://tinyurl.com/raj8ptda.

Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration, 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Lindsey Park, 12557 Texas 364 Spur, Tyler. The city’s annual fireworks celebration includes free mini-golf, a parade along with games for kids. Fireworks will start as it gets dark. Parking is limited so it is recommended people arrive early. Fourth of July Community Workout, 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Lindale Junior High, 411 E Eagle Spirit Dr. Workout for 60 minutes and talk after. You can bring a snack to share. Information: https://tinyurl.com/2s49czuc.
Fireworks Show and Beach Party, 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Bella Vista Lake Palestine, 22828 Dogwood Trail in Flint. Families can come and enjoy fireworks and swim. Tickets are $25 for general admission before the event and $30 at the door. For children under four, tickets are free. Children 5-17 are $10.
