Reel East Texas Film Festival has set a new fundraising event Feb. 27 at the Texan Theater in Kilgore.

REEL East Texas, the group that holds the festival and supports its programs with fundraisers, says Margaritas and Movies “will allow attendees to indulge in refreshing margaritas, savor delicious street tacos, and enjoy an evening of movie trivia!”

Costumes are not required, but attendees and their guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite movie characters. There will be a costume contest with an award for best costume.

Since its inception in 2017, Reel East Texas Film Festival has screened hundreds of films at the Texan, brought filmmakers to Kilgore who have included the city in productions and launched initiatives to encourage the local filmmaking community while inspiring and teaching the next generation of aspiring film creators.
