She was the Children’s Carol Choir Director at Marvin for 26 years and introduced hundreds of children to the joy of song. Her teaching philosophy revolved around inspiring a love of learning. Her love of music continued throughout her life, as a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church choir and was a charter member of the Tyler Civic Chorale. She also wrote the alma mater for Clarkston Elementary school. Tandy approached life with exuberance and believed in positivity to uplift her family, her students, and her friends and acquaintances.
