Back to the good old days
I just wanted to let everyone know how good the columns of John Moore and Jack Stallard have been for many years. I have emailed my appreciation to both of them.
I may enjoy these because I’m an “old school” retired coach and teacher. These columns take us back in time — to the good old days.
I would like to thank the Tyler Paper for these articles, and I appreciate the scriptures from the Bible, also.
John and Jack, keep up the good work, and know that you have a following in East Texas. God Bless.

Accountability needed in group homes
The situation for special needs adults in group homes is pitiful. Workers bias that the state won’t enforce rules. Some clients with stomach issues do not get medicine and have more health problems. Some are not fed breakfast. Homes are filthy and without sheets on the beds.
Often clients do not have clean clothes, and some workers laugh about it. I have an adult child in Texas whom I am writing about. We’ve dealt with group homes for 40 years. Some start out good, but then go downhill.
The state always denies what we say and moving means very long waits.
What can be done to make a difference in the way our family members are treated within these facilities?
