PHOTOS: 64th annual Azalea & Spring Flower Trail kickoff, ribbon cutting ceremony at Pyron Garden

The 64th annual Azalea & Spring Flower Trail kicked off Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Officials from the City of Tyler, Visit Tyler, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, Texas Rose Festival and more were on hand.



Chamber Board President Pat Stacey made opening remarks followed by Tyler Mayor Don Warren, who officially welcomed visitors and residents to the Pyron Garden, 212 West Dobbs, owned by Joan Pyron. 

Susan Travis, vice president of tourism and servicing at Visit Tyler, also welcomed guests and spoke about events happening during the trail. 

The Rose City Ambassadors were also recognized during the event.

The 90th Texas Rose Festival Queen Laura Elaine Bryan cut the ribbon to officially kick off the season, which brings 200,000 tourists to the city of Tyler. 

The Tyler Legacy High School Good Vibrations group performed for attendees.
