The Chapel Hill ISD board approved a new compensation plan for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which includes salary adjustments and enhanced benefits for district employees.

Key highlights of the new compensation plan include salary increases for certified classroom teachers in accordance with House Bill 2.

Teachers with three to four years of teaching experience will receive a $4,000 increase to their 2024-25 salary.

Teachers with five or more years of experience will receive an $8,000 increase to their 2024-25 salary.

The starting salary for new teachers will be set at $51,000. The district said this positions Chapel Hill ISD among the highest-paying districts in the area for entry-level educators.

All other district employees will receive a 3% salary adjustment based on the midpoint of the salary scale.

“This compensation plan underscores the district’s commitment to supporting and retaining high-quality educators, ensuring that our students continue to benefit from an exceptional educational experience,” the district said.

Districts across the area have recently approved changes to teacher salaries to fall in line with HB2. Area advocates, who were focused on advocating for higher teacher compensation, say the increases come after a win from the Texas Legislature.
