Recent news of Dairy Queen closures across East Texas has some asking questions about the fate of other locations in the region.
Officials with Tyler’s Dairy Queen locations are speaking out to reassure local customers they have nothing to worry about.
“Amid recent news of Dairy Queen location closures in Texas, Dairy Queen of Tyler wants to reassure our valued customers that all Dairy Queen locations operated by Dairy Queen of Tyler are not affiliated with these closures and will remain open to serve our loyal patrons,” the group said in a statement Wednesday morning.
In February, it was announced that several Dairy Queen locations in the region were set to close, including some locations in Waskom, Carthage, Longview, Rusk, Franklin and Nacogdoches. Earlier this week, it was announced another Dairy Queen location in Longview is now permanently closed.
Becky Setters, who owned the closing Longview location, also owns Dairy Queens in Hemphill, Jasper, Kountze, Huntington and Lufkin. All locations have permanently closed their doors, according to CBS19. One Dairy Queen, under other ownership, remains open in Longview at 5002 Estes Parkway.
The Tyler team wants to be sure its customers know Dairy Queen locations in the Rose City are unaffected by these recent closures.
“Bottom line, for everyone who loves Dairy Queen, if your favorite DQ is open today, it’s alive and thriving,” the Tyler group said.
Casey Kidd, of Dairy Queen of Tyler, said their team remains committed to providing exceptional service and delightful treats.
“We understand the concern these closures might cause, but we want it known that our 15 DQ locations are thriving with our tenured employees at the lead,” Kidd said. “We are completely unaffected and will continue to operate as usual. We appreciate the ongoing support of our amazing customers and look forward to serving them for years to come.”
