Legacy’s girls relay team sets meet record at Hallsville’s Tommy Miller Relays

It was a record-breaking day for the Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders Thursday at the Tommy Miller Relays in Hallsville.

The 4×200-meter relay team of DeCaila Bailey, Mariyah Coon, Jakira Williams and Zion Smith took first place and set a meet record and a school record with a time of 1:41:75.



Williams, Smith and Bailey were also on the 4×400-meter relay team with Ruthie Robison, which posted a season-best time of 4:01.69, placing second.

Smith won the triple jump with a distance of 35-6, and Coon (34-7) placed fourth. Smith was second in the long jump with a jump of 17-5, and Coon (16-6) placed fourth.

Maddry East won the girls 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:39.20, and Emma Feldman (11:57.37) placed fourth. East was third in the girls 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:27.83, and Feldman (5:39.07) placed fourth.

Jaida Sanders won the high jump with a height of 5-8.

Mason Maldonado won the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:30.89.

Jadaelyn Jackson won the boys discus with a throw of 151-1, and he was fourth in the shot put with a distance of 43-8.

Robison was second in the girls 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.02.

JaiShawn Lee was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.06, and he was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.52.

Williams placed third in the girls 200-meter dash with a time of 25.81.

Myracle Ford placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.35.

The boys 400-meter relay team of Tyler Lockhart, Zion Alexander, Ian Pitts and Malcolm Jones placed third with a time of 42.76.

Bryson Sanders placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 41-5.75.

Grady Studinka placed third in the pole vault with a height of 13-0.

Mikalah Edwards (12.93) was fourth in the girls 100-meter dash, and Emiya Attaway (12.97) placed fifth.

The 400-meter relay team of Kate Priest, Bella Gapinski, Edwards and Attaway placed fourth with a time of 49.31.

Chazilyn Walker was fourth in the discus with a throw of 102-2.5. Kayla Allen (96-0.5) was fifth, and Aaliyha Crowe (90-11.5) was sixth.

Jeanea’ Oliver placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 32-8.

Jayden Jones placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 6-0.

Abigail Luhrs was sixth in the girls 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.29.

The boys 800-meter relay team of Takaiden Brown, Jai’Den Kemp, Pitts and Rashad Warren placed sixth with a time of 1:32.07.

The boys 1,600-meter relay team of Gabrian McDaniel, Joseph Ryan, Iyan Birdow and Joseph Cruz placed sixth with a time of 3:32.76.

Area boys winners were Dennis Canaan, Jacksonville, 100 meters, 11.12; Canaan, Jacksonville, 200 meters, 21.75; Colter Maya, Lindale, 400 meters, 47.54; 800-relay, Lindale (JB Ray, Kaden Fowler, Nathan Bradford, Chad Ward), 1:28.41; 1,600 relay, Lindale (Kaden Baze, Maya, David Lindig, Ray), 3:19.88; Jeremiah Bloemsma, Lindale, 54-0; Jackson Partlow, Lindale, 14-0.

The Lindale 800 relay time of 1:28.41 was also a meet record.

The Lady Raiders took first place with 140 points. Other girls teams were Lindale (107.7), Longview (82.3), Nacogdoches (82), Gladewater (53), Hallsville (42), Texas High (42), New Diana (28), Mount Pleasant (27), Pine Tree (12), Henderson (4).

Lindale won on the boys side with 127 points. The Red Raiders placed fourth with 64 points. Other boys teams were Texas High (77), Longview (76), Pine Tree (56), Hallsville (53), Marshall (46), Nacogdoches (27), Henderson (24), Jacksonville (20), Mount Pleasant (19).
