Family, friends come together to honor East Texas grandfather known for ‘Pop Watch’ fame

LONGVIEW — East Texas paid tribute to Joe Mack “Pop” Roy in a celebration of life ceremony Wednesday morning. The local social media star made millions of people smile through his grandson’s popular “Pop Watch” Facebook page.

“Pop was loved by millions of people,” said Pop’s grandson Jason Roy. “In hindsight, you just didn’t know how many people and how many lives he impacted by just the simplest thing we did everyday.” 



Videos on “Pop Watch” showed Pop’s simple, everyday life.
