Tyler church pastor dies at age 50

An East Texas church and his loved ones are mourning the loss of a beloved pastor with over 30 years experience in ministry.

Dr. Jerard R. Mosley Sr. passed away at the age of 50 on Friday, Aug. 9, the Mosely family announced through a memorial card online. The card reads, “We loved you, but God loved you more. Till we meet again …”

He served as the leader of North Star Missionary Baptist Church of Tyler, located at 1518 North Englewood Ave., since 2015. He first accepted the call to ministry in June 1993. He later preached his first sermon and became licensed in September of the same year, according to information from a speaking engagement at a Jarvis Christian College chapel service in 2018.
