Burkelyn is a phenomenal cheerleader and has stepped into a leadership role this year as a senior. She is always the first to help in any situation. She is reliable, dependable and follows through with everything she commits to.

Her community service includes: 3 year member of National Honor Society, 2 time merit award (25+ hours); 3 time “Project SOAR” volunteer; Community outreach through Serve Sundays at LifeSource Community Church; Youth group leader at Overflow LifeSource; Two year Forge Discipleship class leader; 2 time Philippians 4:13 challenge volunteer for LHS Special Programs; 4 time field day volunteer for younger campuses in LISD; English Second Language Night Volunteer; ESL childcare volunteer; Texas Bank and Trust Student Board of Directors member; Volunteer at David Powell Food pantry; Leader of two LHS food drives; Lillie Russell Memorial Library Christmas fundraiser volunteer; 2 time Salvation Army Tree shopping coordinator for StuCo; 3 time Salvation Army Tree shopping volunteer; PeeWee cheer volunteer coach; Project Graduation Poinsettia fundraiser volunteer; Mums for LifeSkills artist; Cards and Carols for local nursing homes volunteer; Two time Special Programs Fall Festival volunteer; Concession stand volunteer for numerous booster clubs; Gymnastics assistant at KDF Dance and Gym; Texas Teen safe driving advocate through student council.
