BULLARD — The Brook Hill School has announced new leadership.
Braxton Brady will join The Brook Hill School as its new head of school, effective July 1. The news was announced Monday by Stephen Dement, school founder and chairman of the board of trustees. Dement has also been serving as acting head of school since longtime leader Rod Fletcher announced his resignation in May.

Dement said Brady’s appointment comes “after an extensive search process and much prayer from the entire Brook Hill community.”
Brady has a wealth of experience, currently serving as head of school at Evangelical Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, Dement said Brady has demonstrated exceptional leadership overseeing a school with over 950 students, spanning grades pre-K through 12. Additionally, Brady has a strong background in theological studies, having earned his MA from Covenant Theological Seminary.
“Braxton’s heart is for students and he believes intentional discipleship is an essential practice in preparing this generation for their future in Christ’s kingdom,” Dement said. “We believe his value for relationships and vision for the role they play in a student’s education will strengthen and deepen Brook Hill’s culture.”

Dement said the board of trustees expresses its gratitude to the Carter Baldwin search firm for its guidance throughout this process.
“Their expertise has been invaluable in identifying the perfect candidate to lead our school into the future,” Dement said.

“I would also like to acknowledge and thank Jared Green and Lindsay Stansberry for their exceptional leadership as search committee co-chairpersons. Their dedication, alongside the entire Board of Trustees, has played a crucial role in this successful search,” he added.
Dement said the announcement marks a significant moment in the life of The Brook Hill School.
“We are confident that Braxton’s leadership will further elevate Brook Hill and our mission to educate the next generation for Christ and His kingdom,” Dement said. “We look forward to welcoming the Brady family to our community and embarking on this exciting new chapter together.”
The Brook Hill’s former head of school was Fletcher, who served in the role for 19 years. He announced in May that he had accepted a new position as executive director of Campus By The Sea on Catalina Island in California.
The search for a new leader began immediately after Fletcher’s resignation, Dement said. Rather than hiring an interim head of school, the board of trustees said it had confidence in the current leadership and asked Dement to step up as acting head during the transition period.
The Brook Hill is a private, Christian day and boarding school located at 1051 N. Houston St. in Bullard.
