“Since I was a small child I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen with my mom and dad,” Shultz said. “I would pull a chair up to the kitchen counter and without hesitation, my parents included me in the process of making our family meals.”
Shultz, an avid fan of Ina Garten known as the Barefoot Contessa, had a dream of leaving a legacy around the table for friends and family, as well as incorporating her four generations-deep horticultural background by including fresh herbs from her garden.
“Over the years I began prepping meals for a few friends in my home kitchen,” she said. “Before I knew it, in 2018, Tuesdays became a takeout night for multiple families throughout Tyler.”
By 2021, Tuesday Takeout was a dream-turned-reality with a brick and mortar in Tyler’s Mosaic District.
“It was the beginning of something bigger than I realized. We opened our brick and mortar location in 2021,” Shultz said. “I’m honored to continually serve new families each week throughout East Texas with family style gourmet meals in their homes.”
Shultz the business believes firmly in bringing families together for quality time for a meal.

We believe in anchoring families and friends together in conversations around the table,” she said. We realize there are multiple demands pulling on families; a warm delicious meal is the perfect solution to bring loved ones around the table at the end of a long day.”
“Nothing beats a delicious meal and the gift of time together,” Shultz said.
Shultz went on to say the quality of the food also sets the business apart.
“We set ourselves apart in that we will not compromise on quality. We proudly offer unmodified organic meals without additives as often as possible,” she said. “We use seasonal herbs from my garden and source local meats and seafood of the utmost quality and healthiest options.”
“Every meal is prepared completely from scratch, often using heirloom recipes,” Shultz added.
Shultz said as lives get busier she believes meals around the table are key to benefiting the community.
“As we gather to enjoy meals with friends and family the table remains a place where thanks is given. It is a place relationships are established, repaired and community is actually developed,” she said. “If the dream in my heart was given to me solely to bring this into our community; then, I will be forever grateful that I have been honored with such a task.”
“In a culture where we all fight to slow down, Tuesday Takeout can give back by equipping you to set time apart to reconnect and let our senses be pampered with delicious memories,” Shultz said.
Shultz went on to say that supporting other local businesses is key to keeping things “local” – something Tuesday Takeout does by partnering with small businesses such as Crema, Nobilitea, Sweet Gourmet, Drug Emporium, Blue Bird Farm Stand and more.
“These businesses are absolutely phenomenal partners, and we are grateful for each of them,” she said.
Shultz said as the business continues to grow; she welcomes feedback as a way to improve even more.
“Tuesday Takeout is passionate about good food and the depth of nourishment it brings to each person,” she said. “We believe that if we can draw people together to celebrate around the table over a good meal and make memories then we have an important role in the community.”
“We love hearing your feedback and learning as we grow,” Shultz said.
Fall menu items include chicken pot pie, fall pear bibb, white chicken chili soup, and more.
