Project LeanNation opens in Tyler

Project LeanNation held its grand opening in the Village at Cumberland Park on Saturday.

The new business, owned by longtime Tyler residents Keith and Lindy O’Brien, currently has more than 40 locations throughout the United States and continues to grow.

Project LeanNation offers a wide-variety menu which will rotate throughout the year offering new and exciting options as well as protein shakes and protein balls for those on the go. The business will also offer Lean Consultations done with a health coach.

“We are so much more then healthy prepared meals; we are a wellness company dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their health goals through personalized nutrition plans,” O’Brien said. “Once you step on our InBody scanner, our health coaches will sit down with you and do a Lean Consultation in which you will be asked a series of questions about your lifestyle and goals and a plan is designed for you based on your answers as well as your InBody scan report; optional of course, but available to you.”

More than 200 founding members picked up their meals for the first time throughout the grand opening.

O’Brien said he knows food can be one of the biggest struggles on a fitness journey and hopes Project LeanNation can help make the process easier.

“Any physical trainer or dietician will tell you food is the biggest piece of the puzzle, yet it’s also what many struggle with the most; failing to prepare is preparing to fail,” he said. “Preparing healthy meals is time consuming, and some simply do not enjoy cooking; by offering healthy prepared meals, our mission is to fill in that missing piece of the puzzle and help Tyler look, feel and perform better.”

“We know that food is the biggest struggle that many have and we are here to help,” O’Brien added.

O’Brien shared that Project LeanNation recently welcome Daniel Treat, a local personal trainer, as one of its ambassadors and that Treat loves the meals.

“We are excited to welcome Daniel Treat as an Ambassador of Project LeanNation. Daniel has eaten several of the meals, and the protein balls, and approves,” he said. “His favorite is jerk chicken.”

O’Brien went on to say that he hopes to spread the message the eating healthy doesn’t mean eating bland food.

“We don’t use crazy oils; all meals are gluten free, macros listed on the packaging and our meals are considered low sodium,” he said. “These meals are prepared by an executive chef and his culinary team; eating healthy doesn’t have to be bland.”

O’Brien he said he is excited to be serving the Tyler community.

“We are excited to welcome Tyler and surrounding areas to Project LeanNation,” he said.

Project LeanNation is located at 8926 South Broadway Avenue, Suite 130. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jacksonville barbecue joint announces closure

Cinnaholic grand opening set this week

Cinnaholic is set to host its grand opening this week under new ownership.

The Tyler gourmet cinnamon roll shop closed announced in February it would be permanently closing, citing location problems. Loyal and frequent Cinnaholic customer Jessica Gandy was devastated when she found out about the closure and decided to reopen it herself, she said in July.

The grand opening will be held 10 a.m. Friday.

Customers are advised to arrive early, as the shop will serve rolls for $2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only, limit one per customer. All additional orders will be regular price. Customers must be present at the time of purchase; no call-in orders; and offer not valid with any other discounts or offers.

Cinnaholic is located at 8934 South Broadway Avenue, Suite 420 in The Village at Cumberland Park.
