Some East Texas school districts have announced closures or delays due to severe weather Tuesday night.
The following Tyler area districts have made announcements about delays or closures:
Bullard ISD: Delayed two hours
Rusk ISD: Canceled Wednesday
Tyler Junior College: Classes delayed until noon Wednesday
Tyler ISD: Bell, Rice and Moore all had earlier dismissal due to power outages, according to Tyler ISD. As of 2:20 p.m., the district said it is monitoring the weather to determine if any part of the dismissal process at campuses needs to change due to weather.
“The safety of your children comes first. If the weather is still severe during normal dismissal times, we will hold the students inside for safety and delay buses,” the district said. “Each campus will make the call according to the weather situation in that part of town. Thank you for your patience as we work through this fluid situation and please stay safe.”
