GO & DO: Sharon Shrine Circus brings thrills to Longview, Tyler

The Sharon Shrine Circus is making its annual swing through East Texas. 

Produced by Jordan World Circus in Las Vegas, the two-hour show features acrobats, high-wire aerial acts, animals and clowns in a traditional three-ring setup.

Eight performances are set in Tyler and Longview.

  • 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Longview Rodeo Arena in Longview
  • 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oil Palace, Tyler
  • 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Oil Palace
  • 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. Monday at The Oil Palace 

Tickets go on sale one-hour before show time at each venue and cost $18 for adults, $14 for children. Advance tickets and discounts are available at thejordanworldcircus.com and eventbrite.com.

The Sharon Shrine Temple is located in Tyler. The Shriners fund a series of hospitals that offer free treatment for children with burns, orthopedic conditions, palate deformities and spinal cord injuries.



“THE TOUCH”

Tyler Civic Theatre, 400 Rose Park Drive, opens its production of “The Touch,” a play about an elderly woman who seemingly has the power to heal.

The famous First Monday Trade Days makes its monthly appearance in Canton with vendors set up through Sunday.

WILDLIFE AND GARDENS 

Horticulturist Greg Grant will speak on wildlife in winter gardens during a free presentation noon Tuesday in the Idea Garden, located on the southeast corner of Tyler Rose Garden. 

FARMERS MARKETS

Fresh produce and other goods can be found at three farmers markets every Saturday morning in Tyler.

  • The East Texas State Fair Farmers Market: the fairgrounds, 2000 W. Front St.
  • Tyler Farmers Market: south parking lot of Broadway Square Mall, 4601 S. Broadway Ave.

TYLER MUSEUM OF ART

ART AT MARTIN, WALKER LAW FIRM

“Shape & Form Reloaded,” an exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Jessica Sanders, Cierra McGuckie and Dace Lucia Kidd, is on view during business hours at the Martin Walker Law Firm, 121 N. Spring Ave., through May 31, 2019.
