Tyler police arrest man suspected of robbing convenience store at knifepoint

A 22-year-old Tyler man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the robbery of convenience store at knifepoint.

Officers responded to the Food Fast convenience store in the 800 block of West Houston Street shortly after midnight Tuesday.



The clerk told police a man armed with a butcher knife came into the store and demanded money.

After the clerk opened the register, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, according to police.

The clerk, who was not injured during the robbery, said the man’s face was covered with a black and white bandanna. Police located the suspect later in the day.

Hunter Dean Milligan was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and booked into the Smith County Jail. 

He was booked into the Smith County jail about 4:20 p.m. and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
