A dozen local authors are slated to participate in the East Texas Author Showcase from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at the Gilmer Civic Center. The authors from the greater East Texas area will be available to sign books, meet with fans and talk about their latest work, according to an event news release.

“We are very fortunate to have so many very talented authors in our area,” event organizer Nancy Hudgins said. “We wanted to host an event that would allow them to connect with more readers. Most of these authors are award-winning, with multiple books in print and several will be showcasing new releases. We have a variety of genres represented from children and young adult to historical fiction, romance and mystery.”
