The sixth annual Turn Tyler Pink Cancer Awareness event will take place Tuesday. The free event is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on the T.B. Butler Plaza in downtown Tyler.

Turn Tyler Pink includes various educational booths for women about cancer awareness and early detection.

Carter BloodCare is scheduled to be at the event and anyone who donates blood receives a coupon for a free Turn Tyler Pink T-shirt, according to a news release. There also will be two mobile Mammogram units there Tuesday.

Additionally, the event will feature the Robert E. Lee High School Fiddlers, the John Tyler High School drum line, Moore Middle School Cheerleaders, the Van Fire Department Fire Safety House, Mabank Firefighter Clowns, face painting and interactive booths, among other things, according to a news release.

“Every year we add more booths, more pink decorations and more activities,” Tyler firefighter Steve Countryman said. “We really hope to raise a lot of money toward the cause and educate people in a fun environment.”
