Wood County Sheriff’s deputies say they are investigating a dead body found yesterday off County Road 2388 as a homicide.

At approximately 5:40 p.m., Wood County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 report of a dead body. Deputies were dispatched and arrived to discover the body of an unknown male. The condition of the body indicated that it had been at the location for several days. An autopsy has been ordered.

The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy and to assist in positive identification. Anyone with information in reference to missing persons or facts that may provide leads in the investigation is requested to contact the Wood County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
