Paris seeded No. 8 at nationals

Paris and Trinity Valley will be competing at the NJCAA National Tournament March 17-22 in Hutchinson, Kan.
Paris (26-7) is the No. 8 seed in the tournament and will receive a bye in the first round, while Trinity Valley (27-6) is the No. 12 seed.
TVCC will open play at 4:30 p.m. Monday against Pratt (Kan.) (22-12). The winner would then play No. 5-seeded Northeastern (Colo.) (31-3) at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Paris’ first game is at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, against the winner Monday’s noon game between No. 9 seed and defending national champion South Plains College (27-5), and No. 24 seed Cape Fear (N.C.) (19-13). South Plains is located in Levelland, Texas.
Paris won the national championship in 2005 under coach Bill Foy.
Hill College (26-7), the winner of the Region 5 tournament Saturday in Lubbock, won’t play its first game until 8 p.m. Wednesday as the Rebels of Hillsboro are seeded No. 6. Hill will play the winner of Tuesday’s noon game Jones County (Miss.) (23-5) and Highland (Ill.) (27-7).
